Theorists, I've already talked about the good and bad of dairy based milk on this channel... twice. So, for our vegetarian, vegan or lactose intolerant friends, I wanted to take a deep dive into alternative milks. From soy and oat, to pea and cashew, which alternative milk makes the BEST milk? Let's find out!
I wish environmental impact was also discussed, seeing as that is an important factor for a lot of people who switch over to plant-based milks. Additionally, delving into that side of things would have given more context for the price comparison - right now there are a lot of subsidies that dairy producers can take advantage of but that is not the case for the plant-based alternatives. I would really love to watch a video exploring these topics in relation to more environmentally sustainable food :)

Having lived with a dairy allergy all my life I have tried all the different non-milk alternatives. Soy milk is actually my least favorite because it’s flavor goes through ANYTHING you make, if you make muffins with it you will have a soy aftertaste. My personal experience has been that hemp milk goes best as the milk alternative, it is creamy and doesn’t have much flavor, so when baking with it you don’t have to worry about whether it tastes good with what your making.
